Hamilton Hall, designed by architect Sir Herbert Baker, serves three healthy meals daily to the 361 hostel boys.
The meals are prepared by dieticians and caters specially for active, young and growing boys.
The Covid-19 pandemic caused some serious challenges to the staff of Hamilton Hall once the learners were phased-in and returned to the boarding establishments: not only did the learners have to keep their social distance in the dining hall, which practically meant that a maximum of only five learners could be seated at a table during a meal during Level 2 of lockdown, but the learners also had to eat their meals in sessions once three grade groups returned to the boarding establishments.
The dining hall also had to be sanitized after every meal and between seatings to adhere to the Covid-19 safety regulations.
